At first glance, a double-wall cup may look like a simple design choice. In reality, it combines aesthetics, comfort, and practicality in a remarkably elegant way.

A double-wall cup is made from two layers of ceramic with a small air gap between them. This air pocket acts as a natural insulator, slowing down the transfer of heat from the hot drink inside to the outer surface of the cup.

What does this mean in everyday use?

When you pour hot coffee or tea into a traditional cup, the heat quickly travels through the ceramic, making the outside hot to touch. This is why many cups require a handle. In a double-wall cup, however, the insulating air space reduces heat transfer, allowing the outer wall to remain much cooler and more comfortable to hold.

The result is a cup that can often be held directly in your hands, even when filled with a hot drink.
